Non PC Big Funday out!
A celebration of the motorcar

The wacky, the weird, and the wonderful. A celebration of automotive diversity, bring your pride and joy along for an Incredulous car day for some well earned over exposure on Sunday 3rd October. Meeting at Auckland Museum Domain carpark at 9am. Drive to Karioatahi Beach for evaluation judging, and Lotus Cars Waiuku for afternoon Barbecue Lunch/Display.

This is your big moment to come out of the Garage, drag out that secret indulgence for a (very) public display. We want Character cars. Carisma cars, Complicated Cars, (In) Credible cars, Copout cars, Copy cars, Contagious Cars, Contraband cars, Confusing cars, Conjoined cars, Kaka cars, Clean Cars, Crazy cars.

When: Sunday October 3rd 2010

Start Venue: Auckland Domain, Museum front parking lot

Route Instructions:

Issued at meeting point, via Freeway to Karaka and rural roads south, route charted to Kariaitahi Beach, for vehicle judging, Lions Lunch barbecue at Drive NZ Classic Ltd (Lotus Cars)167 Kitchener Road, Waiuku.

Rules of Entrance:

  • Vehicles must have more than 2 wheels (on the ground)
  • Have not been built in numbers more than millions
  • Must not have originally cost more than 5 billion Lire
  • Be rated at more than 2 or more Flywheel (not animal) horsepower
  • Be Road registered and Warranted

Points will be awarded for:

NOT fulfilling Design function
Lowest Power to weight ratio
Highest Fuel consumption
Most alarming Cornering profile
Most Inaccessible
Largest Oil Stain
Least Popular public choice
Not Making it to event
Not Making it home
Longest Stropping (sorry Stopping) distance
Reason for purchase (Gift’s don’t count)

All these features and more must be listed on Windscreen Plaque to be judged
To provide an even field some tests may be carried out on firm black sand beach surface.

For extra points:
Owners should be dressed in cars national period costume, (or Stig lookalike), with face masks (full face tinted helmet OK) to prevent ownership recognition.
Women are allowed (some even encouraged) to don the Chadour, but must remain silent (to prevent exciting male contestants) during judging, and may display ankles, bikinis, or burqua of choice
