Drive NZ Classic Ltd has announced the release of a unique 1.2 litre turbo 7 speed automatic Skoda Yeti, as a New Zealand designed & built WAV (wheelchair access vehicle), that incorporates an automatic remote rear entry ramp and a low floor design to accommodate multiple Wheelchair/seating configurations in a compact front wheel drive family car. With conventional seating for 4, variable seating combinations include 3 seats and 1 wheelchair, to 2 seats and 2 wheelchairs, all configurations allow the transport of luggage or shopping, with reserve seating so that layout combinations can be reconfigured at any time and place, providing exceptional flexibility for both conventional and wheelchair passenger transport. Seating combinations can be changed in seconds, by a simple seat lever and folding storage system. Wheelchairs can be loaded and clamped in the front passenger position, rear side passenger position, or both! Both driver and care giver seats are beside each wheelchair, included in a social grouping for easy communication and all round glass roof visibility. Optional DVD can be added for entertainment.
This compact economical (7L/100km) front wheel drive hatchback fits any garage or parking space. The Skoda Yeti WAV has an automated rear entry low floor ramp system rated to 350KG that provides quick easy loading, with a 1.4 entry height and 800mm width for larger powered wheelchairs.
The car can be ordered with optional hand controls and right hand docking station for self drive wheelchair operators. For the first time wheelchair users can drive, and accommodate other wheelchair seated passengers and luggage, in a compact family vehicle with comfortable ride and handling, plus the latest in European safety, power and economy.
The standard New Zealand built low floor vehicle retails for $74,950 certified and registered on road, including a comprehensive 3 year new car warranty backed by a national dealer network. Front Airbags, side curtain airbags, air conditioning, ABS, Stability control and all other must have operational features are standard equipment.
This is a flexible transport system that can be used as a conventional family car, Carehome transport, or full commercial taxi.
